Yeo Keng Nam Traditional Hainanese Chicken Rice

Mummy was having this random craving for chicken rice yesterday and since we also happen to see this YKN chicken rice advertisement on the Newspaper so YKN here we come for dinner! :D

Situated along Serangoon Road which is a plus for us. :D

Apparently YKN seen to be quite famous for its Hainanese Chicken Rice so we were quite excited, wanting to be impressed! lol!

Besides chicken rice, they also have a list of tze-char items.

We have to wait a bit before being serve a table and waited about another 15mins before our food was served. :( Really slow considering that the place wasn't even filled.

Chef recommendation, hainanese chicken rice. #food (Taken with instagram)

Can't leave without trying their Hainanese chicken rice. We ordered a half chicken ($15) together with 6 plates of chicken rice ($0.80 each) to share.

Eh, I can only say we were quite disappointed with the rice. It wasn't fragrant enough and was kinda dry. We would prefer our rice to be slightly more oily. While the meat itself was slightly better than the rice but didn't manage to 'WOW' us still.

Fish Head Steamboat ($30)

Another chef recommendation and finally this managed to please our tastebub.

The soup was really sweeeeeeet! We like! :D

Claypot eggplants ($10)

This dish was yummy too! Smelled and tasted damn shiok! *thumbs up*

We also ordered their cereal prawns ($16) but no photos because it was the first dish served and I was too late to stop the hungry family from attacking the food. :/ LOL! Anyways, I highly recommend this dish too!

Looks like their tze-char items won our hearts more than the chicken rice itself. HAHAHA!

Homemade pudding! :) (Taken with instagram)

Home-made strawberry puddings for dessert.

I have been swearing to happy grass's products for my jellies and puddings, really good! :)
