Review: Au Chocolat

Finally made a trip to this highly anticipated place after a long delay!! (Was supposed to go when Pau got her first pay, which was like half a year ago?)

I happened to look ok, so I need to take some photos. :P

My dinner dates! <3

Au Chocolat frozen hot chocolate, $12.

I think it's a cup of hot chocolate which was frozen immediately. One of the signature drink which I didn't quite like it.

But we had fun posing with it. LOL!

Our table of food!!
We actually requested to change for a bigger table because we had too much food!

Truffle fries, $15.

Another of their signature which all of us adored and gladly finished every bits of it.

Au Chcocolat Benedict, $18.

Again this is also their signature dish, I think we rodered all their signatures! Haha! Anyways, I have been wanting to try this because of their special hollandaise sauce infused with red wine & dark chocolate. However, I was quite disappointed. Couldn't really taste any hint of red wine and the taste of dark chocolate wasn't very intricating.

Duck Confit, $27.

Pan-roasted duck thigh served with potato mash, a white wine poached pear & topped off with a tangy chocolate orange sauce. I'm not a duck person so this was only ok for me. I enjoyed the mashed potato much more than the meat itself. Hah.

Homemade garlic herb pesto pasta with prawns, $25.

I was quite skeptical about this at first. It seems so.. simple. But I guess the simpler the food the harder it is to make it right. I glad to say Au Chocolat had it right. Do try!

Stuffed French Toast, $18.

Two slices of brioche bread filled with plump berries & indulgent  mascarpone cheese coated with cornflakes for that ultimate crunch. I say this is the favourite of the night for me. I didn't come out to be as sweet as it appeared to be. The sweetness was just right for us.

Au Chocolat Tower Cake, $18.

6 layers of moist chocolate cake filled with milk chocolate chantilly & crunchy chocolate pearls, enrobed in dark chocolate ganache, served with warm Au Chocolat fudge sauce & vanilla gelato.

I'm hardly a chocolate person so it's really unusual for me to seriously say that I LOVE something chocolate. But this is it. This chocolate cake has to be the BEST one I have ever eaten. The cake was so dense and rich! I think I polished like half of it, because it was that good!

Overall it was a good dining experience though the prices weren't exactly cheap, each of us paid like $35 for the entire meal (4 of us in total), well it's in Marina Bay Sands and anything that associates with 'the bay' is not going to be cheap. :/ But it's definitely a good treat for yourself once in a while!
