Review: Spring JuChunYuan

Ages ago, the boy and I brought his family to a dim sum buffet.

I chose Spring JuChunYuan for it's really oriental design and of course the wide variety of food to feast on. 

Round 1 out of N rounds. 

We definitely ordered way too much. Thanks to who? :P

From left to right: Pork ribs spicy mango, water chestnut cake, baked BBQ pork, pork belly spicy sau, Shanghai 'pao fu'

Personally I like the baked BBQ pork! Yums Yums!

Sesame balls with red bean paste, sliced spicy chicken, Szechuan noodles, century egg pork congee, wanton in spicy chilli, wanton in light sauce

I recommend the wanton definitely! Really big, fat and juicy! hehe.. 

Sliced beef shank, guotie, deep fried ngo hiang, char siew pau, hargow, four season dumpling 

Their four season dumpling is really special and of course guotie has to try too!

Rice noodles rice w shrimp, rice noodles w char siew, steamed glutinous rice, shallot pancake, siew mai, liu sha pau.

I prefer the chee cheong fun with char siew to the shrimp. The shallot pancake is not bad too!

Pumpkin pudding, yam dumpling, sago mango & pomelo and durian cream pancake.

The desserts were quite a disappointment. Can't really taste a hint of pumpkin for the pudding while the yam pudding was horribly dry. :( The other 2 were forgettable too. 

I didn't manage to photography all the items we had actually. Overall, I guess the food wise was so-so. I was especially disappointed with the paus as they were really CMI. Don't think I'll be coming back as there are definitely much better dim sum buffets out there, Swatow is still my fav! ^^
