Review: Twelve Cupcakes @ United Square

Twelve Cupcakes is no stranger to us. In fact it has been around since 2011. If I'm not wrong, they are also the ones to bring in the hype about cupcakes to Singapore?

Anyway, it was the brother's birthday days back and he got six cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes. Confused yet? Heh.

Signature, red velvet cupcake.

To be honest, I don't remember having Twelve Cupcakes before this. Yes. Don't be surprised, I'm just not a cupcakes person and I thought.. I can bake right? :P

I have great expectation before trying as I've friends who are literally crazy about the red velvet cupcake. Verdict? Sugar level was well controlled but it wasn't moist enough. Another word, disappointed. Could be that I'm just not into cupcakes.

From left to right: Chocolate Chocolate, Red Velvet, Strawberry Vanilla,
Salted Caramel, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Salted Caramel.

A box of 3 costed $9,
A box of 6 costed $17,
A box of 12 costed $33.

Wasn't impressed with the cupcakes and I thought this would be my impression for Twelve Cupcakes until...

I met the salted caramel and chocolate salted caramel cupcakes. They were really good! The cupcake itself was moist and we love the flavour of the salted caramel! Everyone on the table agreed that the salted caramel cupcake was so much better than the signature red velvet cupcakes.

Cupcakes aside, Happy birthday (belated) to the most talented brother.

Not forgetting a group photo at the end. Crazy us stayed past 12 midnight and we were rather scared.
LOL!
