Recipe: Curry Noodles (Joyoung Noodles Maker)

Do you still remember this dinner that I've shared with everyone previously? ^^

So I made a huge pot of curry chicken on a Friday night and as expected I have more than enough curry left for another meal! Usually, I dislike having leftovers because I don't like the idea of overnight food. But that day, I was more than happy! Hehe.. because I have another plan for the leftover curry! ^^

Oh well, you probably can guess my plan from the title of this post. Heh.

Homemade noodles tossed in curry!

Not exactly the usual type of curry noodles that we are familiar with. My version is more like a dry version of curry noodles. Like dry version of wonton noodles. You get the idea? ^^

So I was fortunate to be given a brand new set of Joyoung Noodles Maker for review! If you have been following me on my dayre you would know how many new kitchen experiments I have created together with my bro, using this new toy! :D

A better photo grabbed from Google image

It's a really handy machine compared to the old fashion noodle mixer that I currently have at home! Because all I need to do is to follow the instructions given on the manual book, place in the flour and egg mixture, set the machine to 'auto' and just let it run for the next 20 min or so! My noodles will be made in no time!

No kneading of dough at all! Fantastic~ :D

Relatively fuss free except for the cleaning part. Haha!

It can make 5 different types of noodles! With recipe included, so you don't have to worry if you're unsure of the flour to egg mixture ratio!

By the way, at any one time, it can hold up to 2 cups of flour, which makes about 4 portion of noodles! Good enough for most households I guess. ^^

I followed the recipe given to make this simple thin egg noodles for the family to try!^^

Managed to make the noodles in about 15 min! Was I impressed? Definitely~ so was my brother!

To cook the homemade noodles:
1. Boil a pot of water, drizzle in 1 tbsp of oil and 1/4 tsp of salt.
2. Place in the noodles, a portion at a time and cook till soft (about 3 min).
3. Remove the noodles from the boiling water, wash it under cold tap water. Set aside in a plate.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for the other portions of noodles.

To cook the curry:
The reason why I chose leftover curry is because it will be more flavourful after a night and also the gravy is generally thicker as well! Simply heat up the curry (you may want to add more potatoes and chicken pieces like I did).

To assemble:
Scoop some curry onto the plate with noodles, toss and mix well to serve! :)
I served my noodles with some blanched bean sprouts as well!

Overall, the taste of the noodles from Joyoung's Noodles Maker was satisfying! In fact I'm happy with the outcome la! Hehe.. considering that it's quite effortless and less time consuming as well compare to hand kneading! ^^

Stay tune to more homemade noodles/pasta that I'll be creating with my new toy!:D

Love,
Lirong.
