Review: Tefal Snack Collection + Recipes

Lucky to be sponsored a Tefal Snack Collection maker! Always welcoming to new gadgets in the kitchen for me to play with! :D

This is actually a snack maker with 7 different interchangeable plates but only 3 are available in sg currently! I heard more will be coming soon though! :)

So currently the available interchangeable plates are for the waffles maker, pancake and grilled sandwich ones!

If you follow me on my Instagram, you probably have seen the pictures of the food that I've made or my Dayre for more behind the scene photos! Haha!

So now, I finally found the time to share with everyone the recipes! ^^

I tried with the simplest one. To be grilled sandwich is the simplest. Heh.

Or rather, I've always been wanting to make a hot sandwich! Now I can with the grilling plates of this Tefal snack collection~

First recipe - Grilled sandwich with caramelised onions, mushroom and cheese.

I use easily available ingredients that you can just get off the shelf from our nearest Fairprice outlet! :)

Ingredients:
Bread of your choice (I use wholemeal)
Cheddar cheese
Onions, sliced
Mushroom, sliced
Tomato, sliced (optional)
2 tbsp Coconut oil (for healthier choice, but other oil works as well)
Your favourite seasoning (I use a combination of BBQ sauce and herbs like oregano. But BBQ sauce is good enough.)

Method:
1. Heat the coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions and mushroom until soft and caramelized, about 20 minutes. Add BBQ sauce and your herbs and spices.

2. Transfer the caramelised onions and mushroom to a plate.

3. Place 2 pieces of bread on the Tefal Snack Collection maker, in between the bread, follow this order: bread, cheese, sliced tomato, caramelised onions and mushroom, cheese, bread. Close the maker and let the Tefal maker do the cooking! ^^ When the light turns from red to green, it is ready!

Pictorial guide. :)

I love grilled lines on my sandwich!! <3

Will definitely be trying more variations when I have the time! :D

The sandwich girl in me is very happy~

Second recipe: Greek Yogurt Pancakes.

How I miss flipping pancakes every Sunday!!! Guess what? I haven't been eating my own pancakes for a year or even longer! :O

Tefal's pancake plates definitely make it so much easier to make pancakes at home! Just pour the batter into the maker and close the lid, wait for the light to go from red to green and tadah~

Prefectly rounded pancakes that are evenly browned!
#missionaccomplished.

Ok, that is if..

If you have a good pancake batter recipe! ^^

So here's one for you~

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (again, you can use other types of oil too)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup milk
Optional: fruits, butter and sweetened syrup to serve.

Method
1. Preheat the Tefal snack maker for 5 minutes, or when the red light turns green. Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, mix the oil, eggs and greek yogurt together.

2. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix well. Stir in milk until all ingredients are combined - don't over mix, lumps are fine. Let the batter sit for 15minutes before using.

3. Ladle the batter onto the pancake plates of the maker, close the lid and let the pancake cook till the light went from red to green. Repeat until all the batter has been used up.

ps: With the batter, I made 10 pieces of pancakes using the maker.

My pancake recipe has no sugar added because I know I will have having lots of it with my homemade gula melaka sauce! :D

So fluffy!!! <3

Alternatively, I have another 15 minutes pancake recipe here as well. :)

Top right is what I was talking about. It's ok to have lumps in the batter. Over mixing will result in rubbery pancakes yo~

Third recipe: Sweet and Savouy waffles.

Techincally 4 recipes that I'm sharing? Because there are 2 recipes here! Hahahah! I feel so hardworking just by thinking that I've shared so many recipes today. :P

This is the waffles making plate and who says you can only make waffles with it? I can grill ham and even bacon and other things using the maker as well!

So how about a ham waffle? Hahaha! :P

Greek Yogurt Waffles.

Did you get it?

I use the same batter as the pancakes! :PpP

So everything is the same, except I added fruits and used a waffle plate instead of the pancake one. :D

Now the savoury waffles which I actually tried to make ham and cheese waffles.

Basically, ladle half the portion of the waffles batter onto the maker then place a piece of ham and cheese each before ladling with more batter.

Unfortunately, the cheese melted away due to the high heat! Hahahah! Oh wells~

Still yummy though, to have a savoury waffles! The guys love it a lot! Hahaha!

I made it crispier than the sweet waffles too.

Nope, you can't control the 'done-ness' of the waffles using the maker. No button for that. You just simply have to leave the waffles in the maker a little longer than usual for the crisp edges to be formed. I left mine like a minute longer after the green light came up. :)

ps: Have you noticed that no greasing of the Tefal Snack Collection is needed? Because it's non-stick! Love this feature~ :D

Another fun play with the maker!

You can also grill your meat and bread with it! :D

Well, in my kitchen there is no boundary. :P

Used the Tefal Snack Collection to grill the bacon and bacon, while I use the stove to make baked eggs and the oven to grill to portobello!

I'm a skillful master of multi-tasking. :P
Hahaha!

ps: baked eggs recipe here. :)

//

So far, I'm having lots of fun with the maker! Can't wait to get my hands onto the rest of the interchangeable plates! :D

Tefal Snack Collection machine can get found at all departmental/electrical stores! Price @ $159! :)

Love,
Lirong.
