Review: Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, Singapore's 1st Hello Kitty Café @ Changi Airport T3

Not a big fan of Hello Kitty, but I was still excited to visit the cafe. Ultimately, it's something to be excited right?Hello Kitty Cafe in Singapore! Hahaha!

I think our local food scene is definitely getting more and more interesting with many renown food & beverages coming onshore. Good news for foodies out there! ^^

Anyway, I have been to 2 Hello Kitty Cafes so far (Korean and Bangkok). I'll say this is by far my favourite.
Not because I was invited here! But because I think it's not too hello kitty-ish?
Hahaha!

Sorry, I'm not a big fan of this kitty here.:P

Cafe hopping in Bedok: Percolate // FatCat Ice Cream Bar // Refuel Cafe // Milk & Honey Gelato

2 weeks back, Mr Tan and I were in the East and we had 3 hours of spare time before our next appointment. So we decided to cafe hop in Bedok! Since we are around the area? Hehe.. Just nice, I can continue my cafe hopping in the East series! Hahaha!

Annyway, I was extremely excited about it because it was our first time cafe-hopping, alone, and it was so impromptus! Heh. :D

First stop: Percolate

Heard so much about the good coffee here and I definitely want to bring the coffee lover, Mr Tan, here! :D

Review: Atmosphere Bistro Bar + Pick Me Up Cafe @ ECP

East Coast Park or ECP has undergone a great change if you didn't know. Right now, there are so many interesting cafes/restaurants/bar gathered at this particular section of ECP, Parkland Green.

Of these, one of them is Atmosphere Bistro Bar!

I got to say ECP is really getting more and more hype now! The bistro was packed with people on a Thurs night! Like you really need to make a reservation that kind.
ps: It looks empty here because it was just 6.30 pm then. By 8pm, the bistro was full house!

Review: Do.Main Bakery @ Tanjong Katong Road

Located along Tanjong Katong road, Do.Main Bakery is an authentic French bakery that is opened by 2 Frenchmen! Frederic Deshaves and Christophe Megel, both formerly taught at At-Sunrice!

It is a relatively small cafe, maximum 20-seaters? But size doesn't matter. It's the food that we are looking for. ^^

So we were invited here somewhere last Feb to try out their new ala carte menu, and of course we certainly did not give their pastries a miss! :D

Recipe: Sushi Rolls + Valentine's Day 2015

Another "later-post" which was more than a month late. :P

Again for memory sake, I'm going to read about our simple Vday together. In fact our 2nd Vday as "SUNTAN". Hehe.. (read my dayre for more recent + instant updates! :D)

So as you can see. We did not have any fanciful Vday dinner at any restaurant, which would have very much up-marketed the price because of this occasion. Mr Tan and I are quite rational creatures. We don't believe in paying X2 or even more of the usual price just because it's Vday. So instead, we made our own feast! ^^

Review: Chock Full of Beans @ Changi Village

Chock Full of Beans, located at the relatively not so accessible place of Singapore, Changi Village.

Despite the 'ulu' location, Chock Full of Beans is never short of customers. That is apparent to The Coastal Settlement as well. Shows that Singaporeans would certainly go all the way for our food! :D

Cafes in the East

Singapore's cafe culture has been growing like in exponential rate! It is no secret that we love cafe-hopping (even though it really hurts the wallet).

However, do you find yourself with a big headache whenever you are planning your hopping route? Or to simply find an interesting cafe in the area? Well.. that always happens to me and it can be a little irritating at time. :/

I'll always have this problem that I have to open so many tabs on my screen to plan my routes. I told myself, I'm so going to compile a list of cafes in Singapore by the different locations! So this is it. I started off with the East (because I've actually done separate posts on Cafes in the East).

Review: The Coastal Settlement

Hello everyone! Anyone still remember the ''cafe in the east" project that I was embarking? I know I kinda ended abruptly due to other distractions. :P

So here's another blog to add on my to 'cafe in the east' category! ^^

Well hidden in one of the least accessible places in Singapore, the very East of Eastern Singapore. Does that make sense?

Review: Coast and Company

One of the newest cafe in the East, Coast and Company is a Papa Palheta x Coast Cycles establishment.

Really cool concept ya?

It was not a place that I would visit without a car, however, the place was surprisingly packed on a weekday late afternoon. Don't these people need to work?

Review: Craftsmen Speciality Coffee

After a satisfying lunch at Carvers & Co., we hopped over to another new cafe in the East, Craftsmen Speciality Coffee, a retail/cafe arm of Dutch Colony Coffee Co.

Upon entering the cafe, I knew I'm in love.

Review: Carvers & Co.

Continuing from my Cafes in the East journey. Here we are at Carvers & Co., brought to you by the former owner of One Man Coffee (will be writing about them soon!).

The really pretty outdoor dining settling. No worries that you'll be perspirating like crazy under the hot sun because the ventilation is very good! In fact, we felt that it was quite breezy when we sat there.

Review: To-gather Cafe

Recently there is like a cafe boom in the East, and I have recently went for a cafe hop around the area. Thus, I'll be doing a series of reviews for these new cafes.

To-gather Cafe, not exactly a very new one. It has been around for almost a year. However, since it's in the East, no harm covering it together with the other new ones.

Because...

Review: Eggs & Berries

Yet another 'all-day-breakfast' cafe tucked away in the fast East, Changi Point.

We were there on a Sunday brunch hour, so it was almost full house. But I'm sure Eggs & Berries is quite popular especially among the East-siders since there are only that few cafes in the East.

Love the design ambience of the cafe, modern with a hint of retro in it. The colourful interior design definitely brightens up the mood as well!

Sweet brioche French toast with sausage and scrambled eggs that comes with bacon and pancakes.

A carbo-loaded entry for sure, however it tasted 'so-so'. Well, choose this if you're looking for something that can keep you fuelled for a long time!

Egg Benedict.

Personally was quite disappointed with their Egg Benedict. First it was costly, a single portion of Egg Benedict costed $12.50. :/ Second, being a cafe that says 'Eggs & Berries' I naturally have a high expectation on their eggs, however I wasn't amazed. :/

Carbonara.

Giant prawn pasta.

Despite the disappointment with their breakfast menu, their pastas were surprisingly good! What an irony.

Berries Good.

Sweet ending to the meal was however another disappointment. I don't remember having any waffles elsewhere which was so dry. :( Could hardly swallowed the waffles without the whipped cream and blueberry jam. >.<

Well, although the breakfast menu was a disappointment (My followers on Instagram told me that their food was much better when they first started but has dropped ever since), their pastas are indeed worth a try! However, that doesn't mean I would be willing to travel back to the East for them. :P
