Review: Purple Sage's Christmas Festive Menu

The other night, Mr Tan and I had a great dinner at Sky Garden, Sentosa, hosted by Purple Sage! :)

The place is so beautiful right!!! *insert heart shape eyes*

Mr Tan immediately planned to have our ROM solemnisation here.

But hello. You have not proposed yo~

Hahaha! :P

Anyway, we were invited by Purple Sage to try their 'A Taste of Christmas' menu for this festive! :)

Review: The Carvery // The Carnivore // Carne Caipirinha // District 10 Bar & Grill

Recently I went to 3 different UNLIMITED MEAT BUFFETS on separate occasions, so I thought I'll compile them together and share with everyone~

Especially meat lovers and all carnivores out there! Be prepared for an eye feast! :D

These are the 3 places that I'm reviewing, The Carvery, The Carnivore and Carne Caipirinha.

If I'm not wrong, currently these are the only 3 places in Singapore that focuses on meat in their buffet spread? Let me know if you know if I missed out any! :)

Review: 1 Market by Chef Wan @ Plaza Singapura

After a monthly hair pamper by Phyllis @ PAVO Hair Studio (quote my name to get 15% off her service! ^^)

Mr Tan and I headed for a tasting event at 1 Market by Chef Wan. It is opened by Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Wan and this restaurant is this first venture overseas! It's a halal buffet by the way! :)

Review: Vintage High Tea @ House Dempsey (Birthday 2015)

Ok, so I'm going to blog about me turning another year 'young'. Hahaha!

Birthday to me is not just about celebrating that we are another year wiser, it also serves as a reminder to me on the amount of pain that my mum has went through to deliver me. When I was younger, I used to focus a lot about it being MY birthday, but now, I've learnt to look for another perspective. :)

So meanwhile I wished myself a happy birthday, I did not forget to thank my mum for giving birth to me as well! <3

On a side note, I'm grateful to all the warm birthday wishes that I've received as well. :')

Review: Sakura International Buffet @ Yio Chu Kang

The family and I are huge fans of buffet, simply because we have appetites that only buffets could satisfy us. :P

Thus, Sakura International Buffet is actually one of our most frequent buffet option! I think we must have visited at least three times over the years. I've actually blogged about them previously! Honestly, it was the price that kept us coming back for more, food wise was substandard then.

So, when I was informed that Sakura International Buffet @ Yio Chu Kang has revamped their brand image, I'm more than excited to come down for the tasting event! :D

Review: Ssikkek Korean Grill BBQ Buffet @ Oriental Plaza

What is the first thing that come into your mind when think of Korean food? I'm sure other than kimchi, Gogigui or Korean BBQ is one of the hot favourite.

With its flagship outlet at Novena Ville (now shifted to United Square). I have really good experiences over there! In fact I probably have been to Ssikkek  twice or thrice before this.

For this visit, instead of going to United Square, we decided to go for the one at Chinatown, Oriental Plaza because it is more spacious and I head food wise is different?

Review: Nihon Mura revisit (NEW BUFFET MENU)

Had a post-exam treat and decided to go for Nihon Mura instead of Chiso Zanmai. Glad that we did because we were surprised by Nihon Mura's new menu. Alright not exactly a very big change but there were indeed some new things. :)

Sushi were pretty still the same. No surprise here.

Some of the appetizers that I had. Scallops and preserved black beans were the new ones. Personally prefers the black beans because they are like those Korean ban chan type which I really like, appetizing of course.

Need to take this potato salad because it's the BOMB! Please do yourself the favour of ordering this thank you.

Cha Soba.
I know some people finds it a no-no to order carbo for buffet. But we were craving for some. I don't eat enough soba to give a fair judgement all I can say is that the noodles were really springy and refreshing.

Tamogo Yaki.

So here what's my favourite in the new menu. Tamago lovers out there, this is what you gonna love! 3 different flavours of tamago yaki here! To die for please! Cholesterol what's that?

Associate skewers and tempura. Not much changes to these.

The tofu skewer is probably the new one but I didn't like it. It was so.. tasteless basically.

Of course I eat my heart out for sashimi. <3

The gigantic cream puffs and eclairs. Personally likes the cream puffs better because I think the chocolates were on the bitter side, definitely not the best eclairs.

 Mochi!

Say my loves. Pink: Red bean, green: matcha, purple: lotus paste(new) there were also black: black sesame and white: peanuts. Basically I love everything except peanuts. :P

Verdict:
Value wise it was $30 after all the charges, I guess it isn't exactly the cheapest Japanese sushi buffet but considering the free flow of sashimi. The price is reasonable.

Food was ok, nothing really amazingly good for the sushi, but definitely better than those served at International buffets

Service was probably the one that I really didn't like during my visit. Service was really SLOW! Half of the time we didn't have any food on the table because the kitchen was too slow!! Serious about that! Furthermore the waiter was really bad too. I mean as waiter you should always be alert and look out to see if your customers need any help right? No the waiter was busily engaging with the floor or the air. *vomit blood* That's still fine if he actually carries a smile. Again no, his face was blank and expressionless. Sigh..

Oh wells, though the service was bad I probably would still be revisiting because I such a sucker for mochi and now they have amazing tamago too. :P

Review: Vienna International Seafood Teppanyaki Restaurant

Mummy's birthday treat.

Our third visit to this buffet by the way! :) Almost couldn't get a table because I reserved only a day before. So point to note: you have to book in advance!

Buddha jump over wall. Have you ever wonder why the name? I have no idea too. Basically it's a very luxury soup with items like abalone, sea cucumber and scallops.

Yes, it's a seafood buffet and they are famous for it.

I love their sashimi! So fresh!

Seriously HUGE scallops!

Now you get what I meant? ^^

More food spam. Love the tiny plate of abalone!

Black pepper crabs, clayfish and abalone again. :P

I eat everything. Seriously.

Other than seafood, please get yourself this deep fried durian balls! It was so GOOD!

I recommend the deep fried sweet potato too!

I lost count of the number of this goodies that I have. :')

More scallops and abalones for me. :P

I tried like all the food there. :P

Grilled salmon with mustard sauce was noms!

The cold dishes. Sorry I'm jumping all around with the photos! :P

Another item that you just can't miss!

Bird nest egg tarts!!!

Yes I ate a lot of durian balls, egg tarts and the sweet potato roll. :P

The grilled meat, there's chicken, lamb and beef. :)

Super fresh oysters that ran out super fast!

Another of my fave, crispy pastry soup.

Calories bomb it is. But so good!

Desserts were quite mehs actually. :(

Not as good as my previous visit.

Oh wells, at least we were happy with the seafood and durian balls and egg tarts and sweet potato! haha!

Mehs looking too. -.-

I have to threaten my brother just to have a photo of him 'I'll not drive you if you don't take photo!' Seriously. Basically I have been threatening him with driving. MUHAHAHAHA! #evilsister

Mummy <3

I just have to snap a shot with these dears. <3

Anyways, everything came out to be $170 for the four of us. I thought it was pretty cheap considering the good amount of seafood and the amount of food we ate. They probably were at a loss. hahahaha! Definitely will be back for a fourth visit. :)

Buffet Town revisit

So after we got home, we went out again. LOL! For our post-POP feast. Oh well, it was suggested by the brother not me! I don't understand how on earth would he still be fit enough for buffet when he didn't get any proper rest at all? And I'm damn right. Read on to find out for yourself. :)

PS: all photos taken by my iphone4s.

I'm only glad I made a reservation beforehand because there were super long queues outside, which I'm totally not expecting. Singaporean simply loves buffet don't we?

Seafood is properly what most people likes or most 'worth it' when come to buffet. But seriously, I'm a no seafood person.

Clayfish and shellfish

Oysters, prawns and scallops. The plates and I'm done with seafood. :P

Nothing 'wow' about the sushi bar too.

Except sashimi of course. I kill fishes. :P

The appetizers.
The last dish at the far back is actually abalone which cleared really fast. When I went back for more it's all wipe out. LOL.

Tempura was okay.Fried food right can't go wrong as it always is.

3 different favours of pizza which I can't remember what are they. They were pretty good surprisingly. I guess I'm only lucky that they were fresh out from the oven. :)

There were fries, dory fish and really nice deep fried chicken wings at the western bar too and they run out pretty quick too. :)

Can't say no to satay. <3

Ok, bad photo. Anyways, these are chinese food. The fried rice and carrot cake were damn good! MUST TRY!

They were having Nonya special for the month.

and I died here because Lirong is damn weak for kuehs especially kueh lapis. I think I swallowed down at least one whole row of lapis alone. :D :D :D

Ok, I realised I didn't take a lot of food this time round. Simply because buffet food are not very instagram-appealing (not very pretty) so I didn't bother taking much. Haha!

When we go Kiseki or Buffet town you cannot, I repeat, you cannot miss their desserts!

Especially their waffles! It's damn shiok. I don't care the chillness will kill me or what, I just need to have them with the crepes or waffles.

Sweet tooth <3

Love their Japanese cheesecake the most! Melt in the mouth moment. /floating in the air.

Not enough for me. :P

So you know what, it was the brother who suggested on coming to buffet but after eating like maybe a few plates, he said he's too sleepy to eat! LOL! I JUST KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! Oh, and the brother told me ever since he trained some abs on him stomach, he realised his appetite started to get smaller. Is this true? If so I think I need to get some abs on my tummy too. :/

Oh wells, so it became I eat while he drinks coffee. lol! Seriously he looked like a drug addict for that moment. Oops. :X Ok, so the very kind-hearted sister decided to eat lesser, relatively, and brought the brother home so that he can concuss. One word for him 'serve him right!' Knew he won't be able to eat. /roll eyes.

Anyways, there are still so many un-photoed food which you properly have to make a trip them on your own to experience. ^^ click  here for my review on my previous visit to buffet town.
