My baobei turned 1! 

Wow. It's hard to believe how my tiny baby went from 2.7kg to 10kg now. :')

Jaylene is turning 1 soon! I cannot speak enough of how time passes just so quickly! It felt like yesterday when I first held her in my arms. :') 

To celebrate this occasion we decided to do a cake smash + family photoshoot with Bespoke Photography.

Turned a year older (hopefully a year wiser too), just 2 weekends back. ^^

As usual, I like my birthday to be celebrated with my love ones. 

It started with a pre-pre-birthday surprise from Mr Tan.

Mummy's birthday celebration // Putien Restaurant // Homemade meals

It was mummy's birthday last Thursday and glad to I managed to clear my work in time to bring her out for a good lunch treat! :)

So I suggested Putien and she was like 'Good good! Xin Hua Bee Hoon and Putien Lor Mee is nice!'

Recipe: Black Sesame Cake

Ok, finally found the time to post the recipe for the cake that I baked for my dad's birthday! ^^

For birthdays, I usually customise and bake according to the birthday boy/girl's liking. So this cake is of course customised to all that my dad loves. Namely, black sesame and nuts. 

In another word, healthy food.

Hahaha! 

ps: on first look, it resembles a strawberry shortcake? :P

Recipe: Pandan Gula Melaka Cake // Ondeh Ondeh Cupcakes

Alright, it took me quite awhile, but I'm back! :D 

Back with a recipe to share with everyone, Pandan Gula Melaka Cake that I've baked for Mr Tan dad's birthday. :) 

This cake is like a bigger version of the popular ondeh ondeh cupcakes. 

On a side note, I have no idea who created this ondeh ondeh cupcakes thing? Then it went on to chendol cake, black glutinous rice cake, orh nee cake and so on... So creative!! 

Ok, so I'm merely building on the smart baker's creativity. :D

The other day I blogged about my bro's birthday cake, classic carrot cake. Today I'm writing about Mr Tan's birthday cake, Matcha Azuki Tiramisu! 

Yes, the 2 boys' birthdays are just a day apart! Quite a challenge for me to fit baking into my working schedule I must say. But all was good! Glad that I managed to bake them their birthday cakes. Heh. ^^ 

Anyway, can anyone tell that the choice of cakes were based on my liking instead of the birthday boys' likings? 

LOL! :P

Recipe: Walnut Carrot Cake // Hotpot soup base

Hello everyone! Recently, the family and I have just celebrated my brother's birthday and this is the cake that I've baked for him this year, a classic American favourite - Carrot Cake. 

It was really well liked by myself and the family! Hehe.. kinda a relieve because I was afraid that they can't accept the fact that there's carrot in a cake? Haha! Ended up they didn't even know it's carrot. LOL! 

Anyway, I received a number of request on my dayre to share the recipe, so here it is~

Oh wow! It's definitely not an everyday affair that the bro is so willing to cook, of course I agreed excitedly! Heh. 

So he asked me for a cuisine and naturally, Korean came into my mind first! So Tadah~ presenting my Korean feast right at the comfort of home! :) 

Review: Vintage High Tea @ House Dempsey (Birthday 2015)

Ok, so I'm going to blog about me turning another year 'young'. Hahaha! 

Birthday to me is not just about celebrating that we are another year wiser, it also serves as a reminder to me on the amount of pain that my mum has went through to deliver me. When I was younger, I used to focus a lot about it being MY birthday, but now, I've learnt to look for another perspective. :) 

So meanwhile I wished myself a happy birthday, I did not forget to thank my mum for giving birth to me as well! <3 

On a side note, I'm grateful to all the warm birthday wishes that I've received as well. :')

It's about me

Hi everybody! It's a food non-related kinda post. While not entirely because you'll still see a lot of food posts. :P

Oh yes, and this is me if you don't already know.  I recently had an advanced birthday celebration with my family, which the birthday girl baked her own cake. Lol.

Anyway, that's not the point. 

So I feel that it maybe it's time for me to re-introduce myself, especially to those who have just started reading my blog. *waves* I welcome you onboard! ^^ 

Also, I'm honoured to be approached by the lovely people from The Belly & Co., who has launched their online website ON MY BIRTHDAY! WHICH IS TODAY. *cue birthday song* Haha! I'm sorry for my dramatization. Just have to. :P #becausei'mthebosstoday. So I was saying, it was a lovely coincident! And definitely a great honour of mine that they will be featuring me on their launch. :')
