Review: Sarnies

Sarnies, pronounced as sandwiches in a Brit slang,  is a heartily Aussie-run coffee and sandwich shop in the middle of Telok Ayer Road.

The design is quite hipster, with a few basic wooden tables and a clutch of scruffy armchairs on a bare concrete floor.

As the name suggests, you can't leave the place without trying their enormous sandwiches. If this shoot isn't good enough to justify their enormous portion size...

How about this?

Sarnies's smoked salmon on rye bread, $13.90.

Sarnies's grilled aurbergine and hummus on rye bread, $13.90.

By the way, there is an extra $1.50 charge to change your white bread to rye. :)

Pumpkin soup, $9.90.

I guess it must be my lucky day because soup-of-the-day was PUMPKIN. #diedhappy.

Can you sense that I was really happy! :D

Sarnies definitely lives up to the hype. The sandwiches served here weren't just huge, the ingredients used were really fresh too! It's no wonder the cafe is so packed with people even when I arrived shortly after 1pm. Thus, be prepared to wait if you come around lunch around during the weekdays, this place is flooded with all the hungry CBD working crowds.
