Review: Waffles Slayer

Waffles Slayer, bought to you by the same people behind Strangers' Reunion.

I think everyone is more or less familiar with this place? I'm sorry for the much delay, this post has been in my backlog like for half a year? Oops. :P

Waffle Slayer occupies the old space of Strangers’ Reunion, which is no stranger to most of us. It is like a spin off from Stranger’s Reunion, designed specially to satisfy the waffle lovers.

I was expecting a crowd here, as it was still relatively new when I visited. Surprisingly it wasn't.

Guess the menu isn't very clear. But it's really about waffles. Majority are the sweet ones that we are familiar with but there are also two interesting flavours, the savoury ones.

Red Velvet Waffles, $14.90.

A sweet waffle with chocolate fudge and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it .

Probably the most well-received waffles at Waffles Slayer. It was really well done. Crispy on the outside but the inner was really soft and fluffy~

Matcha azuki waffles, $14.90.

Ordered this because of my personal preference for matcha and azuki. :D ps: look at that scoop of super round and big vanilla ice cream!

The picture says all about the softness of the waffles. I really like it a lot because it's because the waffles isn't overly sweetened and I could taste matcha in it!

Squid ink with smoke salmon waffles, $18.90.

We were adventurous enough to try one from the savoury menu and this squid ink wiith smoked bacon waffles.

Have to say squid ink is really an acquired taste and I can't really take it. However, the concept is really good and people who could take squid ink commended that the waffles was really good!

Who can resist a yolk river?

Will I visit the place again? I guess with the amount of cafes popping up each month, I don't think so. The sweet waffles were good but not interesting enough for me come back again.
