Review: Foodpanda // Recipe: Roasted Mid-wings

A cosy weeknight dinner with the family. ^^

Nope, I did not make the pizza.

Usually dinners at home during weeknights will be mostly Chinese food because mummy Sun is not very receptive of non-Chinese food.

Only during the weekends, then I'll be able to take them as my guinea pigs and cook them 'alien-food' (according to mother).Hahaha!

My mother is cute like this! She complains but she will still be the one eating the most amount of food! Logic?

Anyway, I managed to persuade her for a change! Actually more like she had no choice because the guys in the family were super excited when I asked if they would like to have pizza for dinner. LOL!

Sarpino's Pizzeria.

Finally tried Foodpanda's delivery service! :) I'm sure Foodpanda is no stranger to many of us. Basically it is a super convenient food delivery service!

At Foodpanda, you not just have 1 restaurant to choose from, you have PLENTY

Honestly, it took me a good half an hour to finally decide on Sarpino's Pizzera. Heh. :P

How does it works?
It's super easy!
Just 4 steps before your food is being delivered to your doorstep~
1. Type in your postal code.
2. Look for the restaurant of your choice and your favourite dish.
3. Enter your particular and check out! You can either select online payment on cash on delivery.
4. Food is on your way~

I think one good thing about Foodpanda is it will give you an estimate of the delivery time, so that you can decide if your stomach is able to hold till then. Haha! But of course, sometimes due to traffic and weather conditions, the delivery time may not be that accurate. But thankfully mine was delivered on time! I actually pre-ordered (Yes, you can be kiasu like me and pre-order way ahead. :P) my pizza to be delivered at 6pm and it did come at 6pm, ON THE DOT!

Wow.

Will I choose Foodpanda again?

Why not!

It will be my stomach-saver especially when I run out of gas in the kitchen. Hahaha! And of course, on lazy days food delivery is most welcome~ ^^

ps: if you need any help or need to check on your delivery status, there is a live chat button on the website. The reply was quite prompt! I asked a question (there were 17 other questions ahead of me) and I got my reply within 10minutes! I think good service is really important to keep the business going! :)

Thank you Foodpanda for the dinner! :)
Foodpanda app is also available on iOS and android! :)

Of course, pizza will not be enough to feed us all. So I decided to make some creamy pasta, air-fried fries and roast some chicken mid-wings! Manage to make all this as I wait for the pizza to arrive at my doorstep. :)

Roasted mid wings.

Incredible flavours over here because I asked my awesome brother to marinate for me! :D

It was so good that I got him to share with me his 'secret recipe'. Haha! Good things must share right? ^^

Before sending into the oven to roast. ^^

Ingredients:
Chicken mid wings, washed and pat dry.
1 garlic knot, diced.
4 tbsp olive oil (or any cooking oil)
1 tsp sea salt (or normal salt)
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp chilli flakes

Method:
1. Rub the clean wings with olive oil all over followed by sea salt. Set aside for about 5 min to let the flavour absorbs.

2. Rub honey and black pepper all over the wings. Set aside for about 5 min to let the flavour absorbs.

3. Spread the diced garlic and chilli flakes all over the wings. Cover and let it marinate overnight.

4. Arrange the wings on a tray and roast them in a preheated oven at 200 degree Celsius for 20 mins.

 5. After 30 mins, remove the wings and flip them over so that the downward facing ones are facing up now. Roast for another 15 mins

6. Remover and serve immediately.

I made some purple sweet potatoes and pumpkin chips to serve along as well! :D

The wings were seriously so GOOD!!! It was so moist and juicy and the marination was so spot on! I think the bro was feeling damn happy as well because we loved the wings so much! :D

Mummy was still the one eating the most from this dinner.
Hahaha!

ps: creamy pasta recipe can be found here and I highly recommend you to invest in an air fryer! :D
It is life changing! Haha! There are quite a few brands on out to choose from. :)

Love,
Lirong.

  1. Hi Lirong. May I know if the services you received were sponsored or did you pay for them? Some viewers might find it misleading that you're writing about all these restaurants and food places thinking that you paid for your food when in fact they were sponsored. Don't you feel ashamed accepting free food all the time and call them 'media tasting/reviews' instead of highlighting that these services/meals are sponsored even though they did not pay you? It's just like what xx recently wrote on about masking ads. Doesn't matter that you weren't paid to write anything, the fact that you didn't mentioned that they were sponsored deceives your readers. Your dayre is also now just filled up with 'food tasting' after 'food tasting'. I find it really sad. What happened to the old Lirong who used to post about her life and food recipes? The ones that got you where you are today before you completely changed? Guess you're just gonna ignore my comment or say that I am a hater but I just really wanted to be honest having been an avid reader of you and your recipes for a few years.

      - Yes, they are sponsored and no, I don't think they are misleading at all.
      1. In all my posts, I will always mention the word 'invited' or somewhere along the line. It will always be in the beginning of the post as far as possible to avoid confusion.
      2. I'll always tag posts that are invited/sponsored as 'media invite'/'ad'. You can check through my label. I did not hide them.
      3. I have a page that classifies all tasting sessions and ADs (ad/media invites/sponsors).
      Is this really misleading?

      - Honestly, what is the different between media tasting and sponsored meal? I thought they are the same. Also, please read above. If I'm invited to a dinner, I DID MENTION THAT IT WAS AN INVITED SESSION IN MY POST. Doesn't invited tasting already mean that is it free and thus sponsored? I certainly will not ask my friends to pay me in anyway if I were to invite them over for dinner. I was indeed invited for the dinner. What did I hide? Why do I have to be shameful that I was invited to a dinner by a PR agency/restaurant? I think I will feel more shameful if I were to attend the dinner tasting and I did not write anything about it. That I will really be EATING FREE DINNER.

      - Like I mention above, I did mention about the dinners being invited ones. I have no intention of 'cheating' my readers about this.

      - Well, I will say dayre is a platform for me to post what I did for the day. So, if I went to a dinner, be it invited or with friends, I will post it. Also, you must know that I'm not the 'old lirong' anymore. I have growth up. I'm no longer the student who can afford time at home to bake/cook. I have to work and I NEED TO WORK. Of course I would love to stay home and cook/bake for my family! But that is not the reality. I completely changed? I completely changed because life is like this. Have you ever encounter anything that is eternal or will never change? I just want to say you have not seen how crazy my weekends are just because I try to squeeze every possible time I have to bake or make something for my boyfriend and family. To spend quality time with them, my priorities have changed (especially now that I have a boyfriend). I'm not complaining really. I just want you to know that by saying I changed (in a negative way) is unfair to me.

      - No, I don't think you're a hater. I think at least you bothered to say 'hi' to me, that was something good. I think? Haha. Thanks for being honest, and I just want to be honest to you as well. In fact thank you for dropping the comment. At least I can clear some misunderstanding.
      Goodnight! :)

    1. I hope this will be the last time I'm replying to you. I deleted your comment not because I'm afraid that other people will know that you said I have 'pretty bad English'. Guess what? I totally agree with you! ^^ Well, I have never once said that I speak perfect English. In fact, I have mentioned a few times that I don't speak/write good English at all. Since you're an 'avid reader' of mine, you would know this. Despite so, you still wrote a comment like this. I'm truly disappointed. It is fine that you refuse to accept the explanation that I have written above. You could have just drop the issue. Yet, you decided to try harder to pull me down. Really? Hurting our people makes you feel happy and satisfied eh? But sorry, you found the wrong person. :) Just going to leave you with this 'treat others the way you want to be treated'. Good luck and goodbye to you.
Oh yes, I deleted your comment because I didn't want other people to see how bad your English is as well. :)
