Taiwan Day 6 Part 1: HuaLien - Taroko Gorge

So here we are at Taroko Gorge National Park! Was contemplating whether to include this in during our planning but decided to go in the end because of the beautiful pictures we saw on web. So lets go!

If you are thinking of touring the place by foot, think twice because to go from point to point, it requires a little bit (just being kind) of walking and you have to watch out for falling stones! So, it best to engage a driver for a full or half day tour. We were lucky to have our hotel to book a half day tour (approximately 4 hours) for us at NT1700.

The good thing about it is you'll have a "dedicated" photographer who will take beautiful shots for you. heh heh.

Once again, you realise in Taiwan there are many "famous" stones for you to take a picture with.

Taiwan Day 5: HuaLien (Golden Triangle Commerical Circle and Zi Qiang Night Market)

The previous post on HuaLien was on it's beautiful scenery while this is dedicated to food, and only food. :D

At the heart of Hualien City is the Golden Triangle Commercial Circle (金三角商圈), which comprises the main Zhongzheng Road, 中正路, Zhongshan Road, 中山路 and Zhonghua Road, 中华路. If you have noticed, many roads in Taiwan are named after the late Founding Father of Modern China Sun Yat-sen (Sun Zhongshan) and the late President Chiang Kai-shek (Chiang Zhongzheng). So do not be confused if you see the same road name in another city!

Within these streets are stalls that sells really fashionable clothing at affordable prices! In fact I feel that this was even better than wufenpu @ Taipei, which I will blog about it later.

So here we are at Day 4 of Taiwan, Hualien!

The view of the blue seas and blue sky are just so captivating that we can't stop posing with them. heh heh  The only sad thing is no swimming is allowed as the waves can be quite strong even for a strong swimmer. So if you are thinking of going for a dip, maybe not!
