Bangkok, Thailand 2014, Berkeley Hotel Pratunam

Just cleared my Taiwan travelogue, and now I'm moving on to blog about my BKK trip in Sept! Better write about it fast, otherwise my memory gonna fail me! Haha!

Anyway, it was a really impromptu trip suggested by the mister and we really enjoyed this short getaway! ^^

Shall start this travelogue 'series' with the hotel that we stayed, Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. We ate a lot of this trip so the next 2 posts will be featuring cafes in BKK as well as street food in BKK! So look out for them! ^^

Anyway, back to this post, The Berkeley Hotellocated just diagonally across Platinum Fashion Mall, making it a hot favourite among Singaporean.

Berkeley brands itself as “A Touch of Elegance” and from the overall appearance and design, the hotel does looks really luxurious! Definitely more grand than the hotel we stay last year.

A modern European touch while keeping some of the traditional Thai culture.

Anyway, Berkeley Hotel Pratunam is separated into 2 towers, Main and North towers.
The main tower houses "luxury" rooms which offers a more charming view of the landscape of BKK. While the latter offers "premier" rooms which basically is a more affordable alternative. :)

For this trip the boy picked a suite in the main tower for us.

A luxury suite.

Didn't manage to capture a photo of the room before we stepped into the room. :P Well, because I was too distracted by the display on the bed!

The little surprised he did for me. :')

Taking the overall design and facilities of them room we stayed, it was indeed grand in looking. However, we felt that it was lacking in facilities as compared to Centre Point Pratunam that we stayed in last trip. Not to mention the size of the room was much smaller too!

Television channels were also very limited. :/

Wondering what is behind this doors/windows?

The bathroom!

An open concept bathroom, which looks out to the landscape of BKK! I guess this is one of the main selling point of the hotel.

Our view from the room.

Another thing that got me excited about Berkeley Hotel Pratunam is the roof top swimming pool! Similar concept as the infinity pool at our Marina Bay Sands (except less grand). We had wanted to come here for a swim but time did not permit. Oh wells..

Another surprise awaited me back in the room. :')

#notahoneymoontrip The hotel got it messed up. Hahaha! Nonetheless, I felt truly blessed and lucky the entire trip. <3

Kinda of a mushy post now. LOL!

Anyway, I guess Berkeley Hotel Pratunam and Centre Point Pratunam both have their own selling points. Berkeley is definitely much near to Platinum Mall and more grand in appearance for sure! But I think I love the rooms in Centre Point Pratunam more! :) I guess it all depends on what you're looking for from the hotel eh? ^^

Anyway, just to share with everyone, if you're looking for hotel/flight deals, it will be good to check out CupoNation! It is like a collection of the all the popular deals from Expedia, Agoda, Hotels.com in one! I find it really useful when I'm looking for deals, because I don't have to open zillions of tabs to cross reference across so many sites! :D

I think there are many other categories (like food! <3) of deals available too! You can go and explode them and let me know ya? ^^

Till the next post~

Love,
Lirong.
