Recipe: Easy Portuguese Egg Tarts


I'm a serious fan of Portuguese egg tarts and I can swallow 10 of these at one go with ease. Such a pig I know. However these little things are such a sin! Which is why I like to experimental in my little kitchen for a 'healthier choice' alternative. 

Ingredients (make 9 tarts)
Pastry:
1 cup plain flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp water
3 tbsp butter
filling:
1 cup milk
2 eggs
3 tbsp sugar
Method:
1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees

2. Mix the flour, sugar, butter and water

3. Chill it while preparing the filling

4. Beat the eggs before adding the milk and the sugar

5. Divide the dough into 9 balls
6. Flatten them into the egg tarts mold 
7. Spoon the custard into the shells, about 80% full
8. Bake for 30 mins or until set
