Review: Charcoal Thai

Thai cuisine has always been a popular dining option in Singapore and with the recent hype about Mookata, it brings Thai food to a whole new level!

Conveniently located in the Heartland of Kovan, just 5 minutes walk away from Kovan MRT station.

Charcoal Thai BBQ (Tom Yum Broth), $39.90.

Actually, the boy and I came down wanting to try Lola's cafe. However, as we all know, it's super popular now. One hour wait for it! Wells, our stomachs weren't much happy about the wait time. So we decided to settle for some Thai steamboat, just beside Lola's cafe! :D

Comes with generous portion of items for steamboat or BBQ. Seriously we thought the items wouldn't be enough to feed us, so we ordered some A la carte to go along. But we were so wrong. The two of us almost couldn't finish the meat!

Balancing off with some healthy vegetables and mushroom.

If you still haven't get it, Mookata refers to the special cooking apparatus created to enjoy both BBQ and hot pot at the same time! Who invented this brilliant idea ya? :D

Our piles of meat at the end. We were literally struggling to finish them! But we did la. Lirong's notion is never to waste food. (Y)

The portion would have been just nice for the two of us if we didn't had our side orders.

Mango Salad, $7.90.

I'm a fan of Thai mango salad, I love the crunchiness and refreshing taste of it!

Phat Thai Chicken, $9.90.

The boy always has a thing for Phat Thai and he enjoys this very much! I usually don't like food like this as I find them overly greasy for my liking. However, this was just nice. I guess I stole a little too much of the noodles from the boy. :P

Mango Glutinous Rice, $5.90.

Because one can never leave a Thai restaurant without having some mango glutinous rice. Love the mango, which was ripen and sweet. I hate it when restaurant serves unripe mangoes! It's like so sour! :/

Thai iced tea, $3.90.

No where near the ones we had from BKK of course (duh..)

A surprisingly good dinner despite the disappointment from Lola's cafe. Wells, this shows that sometimes bad things happen for a reason ya? #opportunityteaching

Hahaha! Cheers everyone~ <3
