Review: Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters // S'mores Creamery @ Upper Thomson Road

It has been a while since I visited Upper Thomson for the cafes here!

Seriously, if you're planning for a day of cafe hopping, Upper Thomson is one place that you should put in your consideration. :)

Well, besides cafes, Upper Thomson has so many other eateries! Like your Sin Ming Roti Prata, Rochor Beancurd, Shunfu Food Market and many more! ^^

I like to use Google map to help me whenever I plan my cafe hopping routes. Try it! Really useful~ ^^

Review: Brownice (Cafe hopping at Upper Thomson Part 3)

Finally at the last stop of our cafe hopping, refer to my reviews on Little Pancakes and Habitat Coffee if you have missed them. :)

Brownice is the first vegan ice cream parlor in Singapore that does organic, dairy free frozen treats that will satisfy any sweet tooth out there.  Yes! Cheers to guilt-free indulgence! (Y)

Their ice cream is made from organic brown rice milk, absolutely no cream, no milk, no eggs and using only natural flavours  I guess this is like the best thing for all the weight watchers?

Crispy vegan waffles with black sesame ice cream and peanut butter caramel.

Brownice offers quite a range of ice creams and changes on a daily basis. Which explains why I couldn't find my pumpkun coconut flavour. T.T Sounds exotic? Yups, in fact most of their flavours here are quite special, check out their menu for more! :)

Comparing the black sesame and peanut butter caramel, I much prefer the black sesame. It gives a stronger after taste while the latter was okay.. I guess the taste of black sesame out shines in this case. However, the guys beg to differ. They voted for the peanut butter caramel. Well, I'm not at all surprised. Black sesame seems to be more of a girls' flavour?

You must also be wondering how a brown rice milk ice cream tasted like? Well, at least for me it tasted exactly like the normal ice cream, you probably wouldn't know the difference unless someone tells you. In fact I much prefer brownice's ice cream. Do you always have the problem of ice cream melting faster than you could finish them? That always happens to me and it suck. :( However the ice creams here are 'firmer' in the sense that they do not melt so quickly. Hooray to no ice-cream-water! :P

Their crispy vegan waffle is also to die for. It's crispy on the outer but so fluffy and soft in the inner!! Zomg! Why didn't someone bring me to Brownice earlier?! :'D

Yes to guilt-free and yet yummy treat! :3

Review: Habitat Coffee (Cafe hopping at Upper Thomson Part 2)

After our 'appetizer' at Little Pancakes, we crossed the road and hopped over to Habitat Coffee.

We were there about 2pm and they were full house :(  So we had to wait for the next available table, well we know how to kill time best.

We managed to get a table after a 15 mins wait. The whole cafe is a little packed I guess to accommodate to more tables. Otherwise the ambience is really good, soft lighting and vintage settings, just how I would wish to spend my afternoon at.

Habitat coffee is known for their coffee, we had their Mocha and Cafe Latte, which did win
our hearts. Being a non-coffee lover I ordered their Ice Habitat Fusion Tea (Lychee), pictured above. It was really refreshing and doesn't taste artificial like some other tea drinks.

Yes, we ordered so much despite the being stuffed with pancakes previously. That's the fun of cafe hopping! :D

Chef's recommendation - The Big Ben.

Scrambled egg Benedict on english fluff, chicken swiss cheese sausage, grilled tomato and mashed potatoes.

We absolutely love this, the entire combination was perfect for our palates. Though the scrambled egg is not the creamy type which I prefers, I love the texture of this as well, which is more firm. This is definitely the best breakfast plate I've ever eaten.

Do give this a try if you're looking for something filling.

Eggs Benedict.

Poached eggs, honey baked ham on english muffin topped with homemade hollandaise sauce.

I'll always get mad excited when I see eggs benedict on the menu. I need to order! :D I guess the excitement comes when you see that flowing yolk lava. Aww~ It's just plain sexy. As seen from the photo and my Instagram video, Habitat Coffee's eggs benedict definitely did not disappoint. <3

Habitat's Ham and Cheese Sandwich.

Honey baked ham with a generous spread of cheese and wild rockets.

We ordered this because we wanted to have something more filling and sandwich immediately came into my mind and boy I'm so glad we got this. The sandwich was served warm and the first bite in was the explosion of cheese in your mouth! Do you have any idea how touched I was? :')

Truffle Fries.

When I asked for recommendations at Habitat Coffee, I'll always get 'truffle fries, it's the best'. So I gladly did and yes, I get it. It was awesome.

I'm sorry to starve you, my diners, please pig dig in. :P

Habitat Coffee is now my favourite cafe on the list, everything was awesome! We didn't get the chance to try their cakes though (which were recommended as well). Well, this gives me an excuse to revisit. :D

Review: Little Pancakes (Cafe hopping at Upper Thomson Part 1)

After exploring Selfish Gene Cafe and Department of Caffeine together, Qiao and I set our footprints at Upper Thomson this time round! :) I guess Upper Thomson should be no stranger to Singaporeans, it's basically a food paradise. We managed to explore 3 cafes that afternoon which I'll probably be separating into 3 different posts. So look out for it if you're interested in cafe-hopping around Upper Thomson area. :)

First stop: Little Pancakes

Tell me about it. :3

One out of the million we took. :P

A candid shot of me taken by Qiao. I find it so hilarious!! I'm obviously traumatised by my bad hair day. Hahaha!!

Little pancake's menu is separated into 2 sections, savoury and sweet.

Under the savoury, we ordered the Chef's recommendation, Big Fan of All day breakfast, $10.50.

Served with 10 mini pancakes accompanied with special glazed mini sausages, a slab of butter, scrambled eggs, greens and potato salad.

From the sweet section, another Chef's recommendation, Going Nutella for You, $6.20.

2 stacks of mini pancakes with hazelnut spread topped with chocolate chips, wafer cubes, almonds and a scoop of chocolate ice-cream.

Tempted?

It's no wonder the name, little pancakes. I could finished the entire stack of mini pancakes in one mouth. Not even kidding. It's cute though, seeing those tiny pancakes. Definitely worth the time taking some photos with the hungry guys grumbling in the background. :P

Little pancakes is definitely a place where I'll come just to cross out it's name on my cafe-to-visit-list. The food was okay, but definitely no where near amazing. Oh, and we felt that the maple syrup given was so little. They also charge if you request for more maple syrup. That's a bad impression for me.

I still misses my Butterfingers in Korea. :<
