Hello everyone! Look who's back! Haha!
I've recently done my pre-wedding shoot and I'm going to share with everyone, especially fellow brides-to-be (BTB) on what I've done prior to the shoot! ^^
Ps: Not an expert of this. Purely sharing on my preparation work. :)
By now, you should have confirmed and signed your bridal package. I signed mine with Rico-A-Mona.
I admit that I sign with them on impulsion. Haha! Because of that one dress that I really like and I feel that Sinny, my coordinator, and I have some kind of chemistry. Hehe.. So I signed with them soon after. :)
So far, all is good! ^^
If you're interested to read more about my experience with Rico, go on to read more on my Dayre. I've created this hashtag #SunTanHappilyAfter to document our wedding planning. :)
So after confirming our gowns and suits, we decided on the date for our pre-wedding shoot! I've exactly a month to prepare! :X
One month before pre-wedding shoot...
- Hair style and makeup
Yes, do your homework! Only you know what you want! Well, unless you really have no idea, you can just leave it to your MUA.
Google is always my bestfriend, just type 'Bridal makeup', 'Chinese bridal makeup' and etc. Lots of ideas will come out!:)
I search on Instgram and Pinsterest as well. They are very handy too! :)
Remember to printscreen and show to your MUA~ ^^
For makeup, I know I want it to be soft and natural. So I didn't really research on it. Anyway, the type of makeup really depends on your skin condition and face as well. :)
- Props for pre wedding shoot
It is important that you discuss with your partner on what the 2 of you want to do. Any theme in mind? Any memorable items between the 2 of you?
If you need ideas, do be shy to ask our friend, Google! Haha!
Taobao is a good platform to buy props, but do get them early because it takes time to ship in! ^^
- Bridal heels
Now that you have decided on your gowns, you can go on to look for your heels to match! I didn't want it to be any fanciful, I wanted a pair that I can also wear it on normal occasions. So no bling for me, I got a simple pair of simple white heels to match my gowns. White colour can never go wrong for brides. :)
- Pre-wedding shoot site recce
I think in most cases, you get to decide where to you want to go for your pre-wedding shoot.
We chose 2 indoors and 2 outdoors. Again, this is really dependent on your bridal package, so do check. :)
Where to go? I recommend places that are close to your heart, places that are meaningful to you and your other half. That was how we decided. :)
If not you can always ask Google. Haha! Google is the most helpful tool ever~
Good to go down and check out the location for yourself.
Find out where would be a good location to take photos! I feel that it's important to find out the human traffic at the site as well. Especially if you're going for popular places for photoshoot. :)
From our recee, we actually discovered places that we didn't know!
Of course your photographer will be experienced enough to guide you, but no harm going down to have a feel first. :)
- Eyebrow Embroidery
Not a must, but why not? ^^
Recommended that you do it at least a month before. Just enough for the eyebrow embroidery to faint to become more natural. :)
I did mine with Vain Beauty @ Far East Plaza.
Pretty sure, Vain Beauty is no stranger in the beauty industry. They are quite established in their eyelash extensions, hair extensions and manicure services!
Recently, they have expanded to include Korean eyebrow embroidery, lip embroidery, defined eyes and deep cleansing facial into their services!
My readers get 50% off if you quote my name, Lirong, when you make an appointment and visit them from 1030am-3pm! ^^ Till end of Dec only yo~
50% discount is a really good deal! :D
Call 9850 6743 for appointment! :)
Anyway, I did mine with Ting Ting, and the effect came out to be very natural! :D
These are the next day after the eyebrow embroidery. :D
2 weeks before pre-wedding shoot...
- Hair cut and hair colour
Now, if you want to do nice bridal hair, you need to keep your hair long and healthy!
Keeping hair long doesn't mean that you don't cut or trim your hair. It's still important to visit your trusted hair salon regularly! :)
On the colour of your hair, the best person to ask is your coordinator or MUA. They will advice you on the colour that will best suit your skin and gowns.
With that, I went to Phyllis! Phyllis has been taking care of my hair for the past 3 years. ^^
Now she's with Kream Salon @ Holland Village.
So we trimmed my long and tangling hair, dyed it brown and we did treatment for my dry and lifeless hair. :/
I wish I could have Phyllis to do my hair everyday! Haha!
She even helped me to curl my hair after that! Hehe.. Of course I can't waste her effort right? :D
Quote my name with Phyllis for special rate! Call 6463 3373 to make your appointment!
Always good to book an appointment to prevent disappointment! ^^
5 days before pre-wedding shoot...
- Facial and cleansing
It is important that you do your usual facial regime. Like for me, I mask 3 times a week to take care of my skin. Prior to my photoshoot, I try not to apply any makeup as well, to allow my skin to 'breathe'.
Finally, I made an appointment with Vain Beauty 5 days prior to my photoshoot to do Deep Facial Cleansing!
This is actually my first time doing facial!
It's a 60-90 minutes treatment, $58. The beautician will exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin deep from within. Blackhead removal and so on. Basically, your skin will be very clean, smooth, soft and supple after the cleansing! That was how I felt! ^^
I felt really good throughout the session, especially when my beautician massaged me! Haha! This is how bridal life should be eh? :P
Why 5 days before? Because you may experience rednes after the cleansing! It's entirely normal! It fades away soon after. So allow yourself 5 days for the redness to go away. :)
Mine went away on the 2nd day. :)
Similar to the eyebrow embroidery, quote my name, Lirong, to recieve 50% discount when you make an appointment and visit them from 1030am-3pm! ^^
Ps: check out my eyebrow embroidery! That was 2 weeks after!
1 to 2 days before pre-wedding shoot...
- Eyelash extensions and bridal nails
Eyelash extensions are entirely optional, but I like to look pretty even after the photoshoot, so I did mine. :PpP
I did mine a day before the photoshoot!
Did a natural eyelash extension as well as bridal nails with Vain Beauty! This entire month I went down 3 times to get myself ready and pretty for the photoshoot. Haha!
- Teeth whitening
Book an appointment with my dental clinic to clean and polish your teeth! Remember you're going to need to smile and show some teeth! ^^
The day before pre-wedding shoot...
1. Have you brought your skin-colour silicon bra? Do you know how to wear it properly?
2. Pack your props!
3. Drink sufficient water, but try not to consume any water after 8pm to prevent water retention! Similarly, cut on salty food! ^^
4. Mask the night before you sleep. This will help in the makeup process!
5. Avoid using hair condition and serum the night before and even on the actual day. Your MUA will have a hard time styling your hair as it is too smooth.
6. Bring a straw along for drinking of water after you've applied your makeup. Good to bring some light snacks too if you're always hungry like me! Haha!
7. Sleep early and set your alarm! ^^
Finally, just enjoy the process! ^^
