Review: All things nice

Before our dinner at Bibigo, I've already told the boy I want desserts at All things nice. :D Have been seeing so many photos on Instagram, especially the orh nee in coconut husk!

All Things Nice is brought to us by The Breadtalk Group, which happened to be the same people behind Food Republic and many other local brands. Thus, it was no surprise that the brands were locates in close proximity.

I love how the 36-seater dessert cafe is modelled after an indoor garden concept and when you look across the cafe it's the famous Fountain of Wealth. Perfect view I say.

The dessert cafe serves both hot and cold Asian desserts inspired from Taiwanese and Hong Kong as well as our very own specialities. All claimed to be made from the freshest and sweetest ingredients!

All things mango, $4.20. 4/5

Comprised of shaved ice, fresh mango cubes and puree and topped with sweet mango sauce, pomelo flesh and condensed milk.

We thought it was just another normal mango shaved ice until we dug right in. Well hidden under the mountain of shaved ice were generous amount of jellies, beans and attap chee. It was like a well marriage of ica kachang with mango shaved ice. Blissed. I guess the only complain I have with this bowl was that it wasn't physically as appealing as what I've seen on Instagram. Could it be because this was actually the last dessert bowl of the night? Hmm..

Yam in a Husk, $4.20. 2.5/5

Yam paste otherwise orh nee is definitely my top favourite Asian dessert. All Things Nice interpretation of this traditional dessert is really interesting. The smooth orh nee was served right from a coconut husk. I guess the whole idea was to give an extra kick to the coconut fragrance. Sadly, I don't buy it. I find the orh nee to be way too watery and the combination of orh nee with the coconut husk tasted so.. weird. Also, a gentle reminder not to mix the orh nee and the coconut milk together. Not only the flavour became indistinct, it was almost like a you're having an orh nee smoothie in a husk. So beware.

A lovely night stroll after Bibigo and before All things nice.
