Review: Carvers & Co.

Continuing from my Cafes in the East journey. Here we are at Carvers & Co., brought to you by the former owner of One Man Coffee (will be writing about them soon!).

The really pretty outdoor dining settling. No worries that you'll be perspirating like crazy under the hot sun because the ventilation is very good! In fact, we felt that it was quite breezy when we sat there.

What's with these books you may ask. They are the menu.

Yes, rather creative concept ya? To have their menu all clipped onto a book. I call this a true hipster cafe.

While waiting for our friend to arrival, the friendly people of Carvers & Co. offered us some of their coffee beans, which are the same as Common Man Coffee Roasters. Am not exactly a coffee expert, but from a smell I knew these beans kick asses!

If you're looking for brunch items like Eggs Benedict on their menu, I'm sorry you'll be disappointed. Carvers & Co. takes a different approach by featuring more of roasts on their menu, though some typical brunch items could still be found on their menu.

The Carvers Plate, $25.

Carver's Gammon Ham and carvings of the Roast of the day served with caramelised onions and choice of fries or potato mash. That's right, their Roasts change on a daily basis. So do check with them before making an order! :) What we had were Turkey and Lamb shoulder!

Who says Turkey is only for Christmas? Thank you the head-chef cum owner, Sarah, for being so brilliant! By the way, I absolutely love the potato mash and caramelised onions! Kinda finished everything. Oops! :P By the way, the portion is really huge! It's really good if you can share it with some good company. :)

Truffle egg-in-the-hole toast, $15.

Served with whipped Grana Padano and candied bacon.

If you really love your eggs, this would be one of the item you can get off the menu. Would have loved it more if the yolk was flowy. :/

Special cold brew, $8.

Thanks to the Barista for the lovely recommendation, this was really an awesome drink.

But sorry guys, this is from the Barista's private stash.

You can try asking though. :P

Fruit crumble with Vanilla ice cream, $9.90.

Was just about to leave for our next cafe destination when the friendly people of Carvers & Co. came up to us and recommend us dessert. We were glad that we took up the offer, because the fruit crumble was seriously delicious. We were literally fighting for more spoons of it!

The delicious warm crumble under the ice cream. Boy, so good!

Overall, we feel that serving really took a long while. But this was compensated with the friendly service by the crew. We had a great chat with the owner, Sarah, herself! Would definitely love to drop by to try out their dinner menu sometime soon!

By the way, Brunch/Lunch menu is served from 10-2.30pm only. Afterwhich, it will only be snacks on the menu. :) While dinner is from 6-9.30pm.

Alright, stay tune to my next adventure in the East! ^^
